Pop Clinic has no accounts, no adverts, and nothing that identifies you. Your progress is a single file on your own phone.
The game can send anonymous usage and crash data, and it asks first. The question appears the first time you open it, before anything is collected. If you say no, nothing is collected — the game does not ask again, and it plays exactly the same. You can change your answer at any time under Settings → Share usage data.
Nothing is collected until you answer the question on first launch. This is not a setting you have to go and find and switch off: collection starts off, and stays off unless you turn it on. If you never answer the question, nothing is sent.
When you do agree, we use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google, to collect:
That identifier is not your advertising ID. We explicitly switch advertising ID collection off in the app's manifest, so it is never collected at all.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. There are no adverts in this game and no advertising SDK in the build.
If you decline, crash reporting is off too. Many apps treat stability data as separate and keep it on regardless. We do not, because a crash report still carries a device model, an OS build and that installation identifier — so it is covered by the same question rather than quietly exempted from it.
The practical cost is ours, not yours: if you decline and the game then crashes, we will not hear about it.
The game saves your progress locally in doudou.save.json, inside the app's private storage. No other app can read it, and it never leaves your phone. It contains:
Nothing in that file identifies you. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
| What you want | How |
|---|---|
| Refuse collection entirely | Answer No on first launch. Nothing is ever sent |
| Change your mind, either way | Settings → Share usage data |
| Erase your local progress | Settings → Reset progress, or uninstall |
| Stop all future collection | Turn Share usage data off. It takes effect immediately |
| Delete data already collected | Settings → Delete my usage data |
On deleting data already collected: turning the setting off stops anything further being sent. Delete my usage data goes further — it discards the installation identifier that everything collected so far is keyed to, so that data can no longer be connected to your copy of the game. It also switches collection off. Both take effect immediately and need no account, no email and no request to us.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
android.permission.VIBRATE | Haptic feedback when a lesion gives way. Turn it off under Settings → Vibration |
android.permission.INTERNET | Sending usage and crash data, when you have agreed to it |
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Added by Firebase, to check whether there is a connection before trying to send |
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK | Added by Firebase, to finish sending a report that is already in flight |
com.google.android.finsky.permission.BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE | Added by Firebase, for install attribution |
The game requests no camera, microphone, location, contacts or storage access.
We rely on your consent (UK & EU GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). That is the reason the game asks before collecting rather than after, and the reason both answers on that screen are a single equally-weighted tap. You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings, with no effect on the game.
Google acts as our data processor for analytics and crash reporting, and may transfer data outside your country. Google's own handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase data processing terms.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. The fastest route for erasure is Settings → Delete my usage data, which needs no request to us at all. Otherwise, because we hold no account and no name, the only handle we have is your installation identifier — so contact us from the device in question, or include your approximate first-use date, so we can find the right records.
Firebase retains analytics data according to the retention period configured on the Firebase project. Crash reports are retained by Crashlytics for up to 90 days. We keep no separate copy of either, and no database of our own.
Pop Clinic is not directed at children. Because of its subject matter we intend it for players aged 13 and over, and we declare that audience on Google Play. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and you would like the data removed, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change what we collect, we will update this policy and its effective date. If a change materially widens collection — an advertising SDK, in-app purchases, or anything that leaves the device that did not before — we will ask for consent again rather than relying on the answer you have already given.
